Paris Saint-Germain were dealt an early blow as Achraf Hakimi’s mistake inside the box allowed Reims to take the lead in the sixth minute at Parc des Princes. A low curling pass from Junya Ito went straight to the Moroccan who received the ball inside the box. Oumar Diakite pounced on it before dispossessing the PSG full-back and setting up Marshall Munetsi who found the back of the net.

The hosts soon took control of the game after the initial setback and restored parity courtesy of Yunis Abdelhamid’s own goal. Three minutes later, Goncalo Ramos put his team in front from Lee Kang-in’s cross from the right side which the Reims defence failed to intercept.

Towards the end of the first half, Diakite netted the equaliser as he cleverly beat PSG’s offside trap. The forward received a quality through ball from defender Emmanuel Agbadou, before going past Lucas Beraldo to find the back of the net.

A desperate Luis Enrique made three attacking changes around the 70th-minute mark as he introduced Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele. The mercurial attacker had just one shot on target towards the end of the match but it failed to trouble the opponent’s goalkeeper.
