Juventus vs Hellas Verona ended in a 3-0 victory for Juventus, marking their second consecutive win under Thiago Motta in the Serie A campaign. Dusan Vlahovic scored twice, helping Juventus secure the top spot early in the season. Nicolo Savona also made an impact, scoring his first goal for the club on his full debut.

Juventus showed their strength away from home, continuing their fine start to the season. Under Motta’s guidance, the team has transformed, especially in getting the best out of their younger players. This match was Juventus’ first away win in Serie A in eight games. Verona had beaten Napoli 3-0 at home the previous week, so Juventus faced no guaranteed easy night.

Vlahovic opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a clean finish. Manuel Locatelli dispossessed Verona’s Ondrej Duda, passing the ball to 19-year-old Kenan Yıldız. Yıldız threaded a pass through to Vlahovic, who calmly slotted the ball past Verona’s goalkeeper, Lorenzo Montipo, under pressure from three defenders.

Juventus doubled their lead 10 minutes later. Nicolo Savona, on his full debut, met Samuel Mbangula’s cross with a header that looped across the goal into the corner. Montipo was helpless to stop it. Locatelli was a standout in midfield, cleaning up defensively and showcasing his passing range, reminiscent of Motta’s playing style. Under Motta, Locatelli has the potential to return to the form that made him a breakout star at Euro 2020.

With a Juventus vs Hellas Verona 2-0 lead going into the second half, Juventus only needed six minutes to secure their third goal. Samuel Mbangula, one of the promising young talents under Motta, drove at Jackson Tchatchoua, drawing a penalty. It was only the Belgian’s second senior game, after scoring and assisting against Como and adding an assist against Verona.

Vlahovic converted the penalty with ease, sending Montipo the wrong way and sealing the win for Juventus. The team controlled the game for the rest of the match, conceding their first shot on target in the 82nd minute. Verona had few chances and were wasteful with the ones they created.

Juventus now looks ahead to welcoming Daniele De Rossi’s Roma side to the Allianz Stadium next weekend. Roma is still searching for their first league win of the season.
