Harry Maguire is eager to add more trophies to his collection at Manchester United this season. The former United captain recently recovered from muscle issues that troubled him at the end of last season. He emphasized his determination to contribute to the club’s success. After Erik ten Hag’s squad secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford, the team now prepares for their first away match of the Premier League season against Brighton at the Amex Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Looking ahead to the season, Harry Maguire is focused on securing more silverware for Manchester United. The team heads to the Amex this Saturday to face a Brighton side that recently dominated Everton with a 3-0 victory. The upcoming clash will be a critical test for United, who defeated Brighton before they went on to win the FA Cup against Manchester City.

As the former captain of United, Harry Maguire remains driven to achieve more memorable victories. He stated that the club “demands trophies” and expressed his desire for more success. He said, “I think we don’t really want to set any targets, but this club demands trophies. We want to win another trophy, of course. In the Premier League, we know we need significant improvements from last season. Obviously, we aim to secure a Champions League spot. We missed out this season because we weren’t good enough in the league. For sure, we’ve got to improve on last season and see where it takes us.”

Despite missing the FA Cup final due to a calf injury, Harry Maguire returned to the starting lineup for United’s Premier League opener. He played a key role in the team’s clean sheet. Joshua Zirkzee scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win over Fulham.

Reflecting on his current form, Harry Maguire said, “I feel good, I feel fit. Physically and mentally, I’m in a good place. I’m looking forward to a big season. There are so many games this season. I’m sure the team will make many changes in the starting 11 from game to game. When your chance comes, you need to seize it. We’ll need a big squad for this season. I’m ready to contribute.”

Harry Maguire also highlighted the importance of young talent at Manchester United. In the Fulham match, four players under 24, including debutant Joshua Zirkzee and assist-provider Alejandro Garnacho, received crucial minutes. He acknowledged that the club has a history of nurturing young players and providing opportunities for them to shine. “This club has always given opportunities to young players and produced good players,” Maguire noted. “So the young boys know that if they come and train with us, perform well in games, they will get their chances. The manager has proven that over the last couple of years. It’s up to them to take those chances. They have the ability and talent to do so.”
