Former Manchester City and Brazil winger Robinho, whose real name is Robson De Souza, is embarking on a new career path by taking educational courses during his nine-year prison sentence.

Robinho, now 40, was among six men found guilty of assaulting an Albanian woman in an Italian nightclub in January 2013, during his tenure with AC Milan.

Following a landmark ruling by Brazil’s supreme court in March, he was sentenced to serve his jail term in Brazil, as requested by Italian prosecutors.

According to The Sun, Robinho has started his imprisonment by enrolling in a program offered by the Brazilian Universal Institute.

This initiative aims to equip inmates with practical skills for life after release, and Robinho is currently studying basic electronics, including television and radio repair.

Mario Rosso Vale, Robinho’s lawyer, commented, “Robinho is keeping his head down and quietly getting on with it… he is being an exemplary inmate and has had no issues with other prisoners.”

“They even gave him some soccer boots, once he was integrated, to join in the games during recreation time.”
