Liverpool vs Brentford saw the Reds continue their flawless start to the Premier League season with a convincing 2-0 win at Anfield. Goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah sealed the victory, marking Liverpool’s second consecutive triumph under new manager Arne Slot, while Brentford suffered their first defeat of the campaign.

The match began with Brentford showing early promise, but Liverpool quickly turned the tide. In the 13th minute, the Bees found themselves on the back foot after an attacking opportunity was swiftly countered by the Reds. Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota led a rapid break, culminating in a well-taken finish by Diaz, giving Liverpool a 1-0 lead.

Brentford nearly responded moments later when Christian Norgaard headed wide from close range, missing a golden chance to equalize. However, Liverpool remained in control, with Salah narrowly missing the target after a neat exchange on the right and Trent Alexander-Arnold forcing a desperate block from Nathan Collins inside the box.

Despite Brentford’s attempts to claw their way back, Liverpool carried their slender lead into halftime. The visitors came close to leveling the score early in the second half when Collins forced Alisson into a fine save with a powerful back-post header.

This scare seemed to jolt Liverpool into action, and they soon regained their attacking momentum. Jota and Salah both went close following some intricate build-up play, and Alexander-Arnold rattled the post directly from a corner.

Liverpool’s persistence paid off with 20 minutes remaining when Diaz intercepted a loose ball and slid it through to Salah. The Egyptian forward coolly finished to double Liverpool’s lead, effectively putting the game out of Brentford’s reach.

Cody Gakpo nearly added a third in the closing stages, smashing a shot against the bar, but the Reds were more than satisfied with the 2-0 scoreline. The win ensured that Liverpool vs Brentford ended in another success for Arne Slot’s side, keeping them among the few teams with a perfect start to the new season.
