Tom Cruise stole the spotlight at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony with a stunt only he could pull off. The “Mission: Impossible” star leaped from the Stade de France, making the transition to the L.A. 2028 Olympics truly unforgettable.

Currently filming in Europe, Tom Cruise jumped from the top of France’s largest stadium and landed directly on the Olympic stage. The crowd erupted in excitement as he made his dramatic entrance. Furthermore, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass greeted him, having just accepted the Olympic flag from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. However, Cruise’s performance was far from over.

In typical Hollywood style, Tom Cruise mounted a motorcycle with the flag and sped through Paris, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “By the Way” blasting in the background. Subsequently, he jumped into a waiting helicopter, then parachuted down to the Hollywood sign. Upon landing, he attached the five Olympic rings to the iconic landmark.

This wasn’t Cruise’s first Olympic appearance. Throughout the Paris Games, he had been a prominent guest, attending the opening ceremony and mingling with celebrities like Steven Spielberg and Ariana Grande. Just before the Games began, he was honored as a Knight of the Legion of Honor by France’s culture minister, Rachida Dati.

Meanwhile, L.A. is already gearing up for its 2028 moment. Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers energized the handover celebration. Additionally, Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy winner H.E.R. delivered a powerful rendition of the U.S. national anthem. Paris also impressed with performances by French bands Phoenix and Air, along with Belgian pop star Angele.

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass shared her excitement and promised that the 2028 Games would showcase the city’s diversity and international spirit. Moreover, she hinted at more surprises to come, making it clear that the closing ceremony was merely a preview of what’s ahead.

Paris set a high bar with its historic venues and spectacular events. From the Place de la Concorde to the Eiffel Tower, and even the Chateau de Versailles, the city offered a stunning backdrop. The opening ceremony along the Seine River, featuring Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, was particularly memorable. As the L.A. Games approach, if Cruise’s stunt is any indication, we’re in for an exhilarating ride.
