Richarlison Declines Saudi Arabia Move, Commits to Tottenham

Football player Richarlison scored the match winner

Striker Richarlison has expressed his desire to remain at Tottenham Hotspur after rejecting an offer from Saudi Arabia. The 27-year-old Brazilian forward joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 for a club-record fee of £60m.

Richarlison, who has scored 15 goals in 66 appearances for Tottenham, was not always a starter last season under manager Ange Postecoglou. Despite interest from several Saudi Arabian clubs, with one unnamed team submitting a bid, Richarlison prefers to stay in England. He believes this will boost his chances with the Brazilian national team.

“There has been an offer, but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder,” Richarlison told ESPN Brazil.

Tottenham are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer. They have identified Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke as a potential target. The Cherries, however, are keen to retain Solanke. He scored 21 goals in 42 games last season but was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad. Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract, which runs for another three years, but Spurs are hoping to negotiate a lower fee.
